Norton 360, the top of the line product in Symantec’s lineup of security solutions, has a lot to offer to Windows users. Norton 360 is an antivirus, firewall, parental control, tuneup, and backup tool. This means the application will protect your system from a large variety of threats, will prevent children from accessing things that are inappropriate for their age, will make your computer run better, and will back up your important data.

Norton 360 can run on a system powered by a 32 or 64-bit edition of Windows XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Said system must meet the following system requirements in order to run Norton 360: 1GHz processor or better, 256MB of RAM or more, 300MB of free disk space. It must be mentioned here that Norton 360 provides support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or newer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome; it also provides support for Microsoft Outlook 2002 or later, Outlook Express 6.0 or later, and Windows Mail.

Right in the middle of Norton 360 interface there are four large buttons: Security (run a scan, update virus signatures, manage the firewall, run Norton Insight), Identity (manage identity protection, configure Identity Safe), Backup (run backup task, manage backup sets, restore files, buy more online storage), and Tuneup (run disk optimization, file cleanup, diagnostic report, and startup manager). At the top you will find the Tasks, Settings, Performance, Feedback, Account, and Support buttons. On the right hand side there are buttons for managing your Norton account, getting Norton Mobile Security for Android, accessing Norton Online Family, and for accessing Norton Safe Web, a tool that tells you if a website is safe or potentially harmful.

Norton 360’s main purpose is to protect your system, your data, your identity, and your children from a variety of threats – and since it is Symantec’s ultimate security product, it does a properly good job of protecting what’s important to you. And a very nice thing about Norton 360 is that it protects against existing and new threats without slowing your system down. As a matter of fact, thanks to its tuneup functionality, Norton 360 can make your system run better. The application can optimize hard disks, remove unnecessary and outdated files, clean up the Registry, and manage the applications that automatically run at startup.

You have 30 days at your disposal to use Norton 360 for free and evaluate the functionality it has to offer. You will have to get a license to keep using the application once this trial period is over.

Not only is Norton 360 a powerful security solution that protects your data, identity, and children, it is also a properly good tuneup and backup tool.

Pros

A modern PC will easily meet the system requirements for running Norton 360. The interface is good looking, intuitive, and easy to use. Norton 360 protects against a variety of threats; it also backs up your important data and helps your PC run better.

Cons

Free to use for a trial period of 30 days.
